Process

From the moment you access our web site or contact us by phone, we want you to feel that you are among friends. You are an important person to us - our reason for being here. We intend to make your experience as pleasant and convenient as possible. Although many of us will never have the privilege of meeting you, we are all working together to serve your immediate medical travel needs.

This guide is intended to help you learn more about the process.

1. Visit www.GlobalMedTravel.com
Learn about how we work. Having a procedure abroad is an important decision, and you need to know that your facilitator is professional, experienced and knowledgeable. Please read our site information thoroughly and contact us with any questions you may have.

2. Complete the Online Application Form
Complete the online get started application form or call us at 888-987-GLOBAL and we will help you complete the form. From the moment you contact us, we will begin working to answer all of your questions and address your concerns. We will send you a wealth of pertinent information that will allow you to make an informed decision about whether or not medical treatment with one of our partner organizations is for you.

3. Introduction to your personal Case Manager
Once we receive your information you will be assigned a personal US Case Manager. Your manager will be available to assist you over the phone, fax, or via email, whichever you prefer. He/she will answer all of your questions about our services and assist you in preparing your medical voyage. He/she will obtain more information from you regarding a desired location, medical center, and travel time that best meets your needs. Once you have decided on the specific medical procedure and destination, we will send you a medical procedure quotation.

4. Complete the Medical Questionnaire
You will complete the medical questionnaire to best inform the physician abroad of your medical history. This will advise him/her of any potential risks or conditions that may be necessary to know in conjunction with your procedures(s).

5. Provide transcripts, MRI, x-rays, etc.
For many medical procedures, the doctor will need to see your transcripts, MRI's, x-rays, photos, etc. We will assist a seamless process of making your records available to the physicians abroad. If necessary, we can arrange to have them digitized for you. All medical information is kept strictly confidential, within the regulations of HIPAA.

6. Physician Review
If you want to continue with the process, we will send all of your medical information to the physician abroad for review. There is a $100 deposit necessary before we can do this, which is payable by credit card, PayPal, or check. The deposit will go towards the total procedure cost. We will facilitate communication with your chosen physician for any questions you may have.

7. Receive a finalized price quotation for the procedure(s) and accommodations
You will receive a finalized price quotation for the procedure(s) and accommodations. You will talk about any financing issues or special accommodations necessary to your specific situation with your Case Manager. We will send you a final agreement that defines all the specific terms, conditions, and costs.

8. Passport/Visa
If you do not already possess a Passport or Visa, we will assist you in acquiring these documents.

9. Finalize Travel & Flights
You will finalize travel and flight arrangements with our travel partners and pay for the flights. It is strongly recommended that you consider travel insurance. We will send you a complete itinerary of your medical travel. Please check this document carefully to understand the timeline of your trip. We will also send you information very specific to your travel destination so you can be prepared to make the most of your travel experience.

10. Deposit funds into our U.S holding account
To help you feel more comfortable about thesafety of your money, we have an agreement with our partners abroad to allow you to forward 10% of your total procedure price into our U.S bank account. Unlike other medical tourism companies who make you pay 100% of the cost up front, we will only ask you for a small portion of the cost to secure your booking. This way, if for any reason you decide not to move forward with your procedure, you will only pay for the services you have used and receive a refund from us.

11. Arrival at destination and greeted by your European Case Manager
Your European Case Manager will be your personal assistant throughout your stay. He/she is fluent in English and will be there for you every step of the way. This person will accompany you to all your doctor's appointments and medical treatments. In some cases, you will be given a cell phone upon your arrival so that you can contact your local Case Manager at any time.

12. Pre-Surgery consultation with medical team
After a day of relaxation, you will be accompanied by your European Case Manager to the physician's office for the pre-surgery consultation. Here, the doctor will review your medical transcripts and may conduct additional tests to ensure that you are ready for your procedure.

13. Surgical procedure
During the procedure, your European Case Manager will be checking on your status. If you wish, they will also relay your progress to your family and friends back home.

14. Post treatment recuperation
When the doctor is satisfied with your condition, you will be released from the hospital and driven back to your hotel to begin the recuperation process. During this time, you will not have to worry about anything, as your European Case Manager will check in on you several times a day. Also, the entire hotel staff will have been briefed on your condition and will be checking your comfort level from time to time.

15. Post treatment enjoyment and travel
After recuperating and when the physician is satisfied with your progress, if you wish you can explore the different vacation options and packages. Your European Case Manager will assist you in researching and arranging the activities that you are most interested in.

16. Return home
Your European case manager will help you with the departure process.
